The Faneromeni Holy Monastery dates back to 1650. It is located on a hill, on the left of a provincial road in the settlement of Fortosi. This is a great cultural monument dedicated to the Devotion of the Virgin Mary. According to local tradition the Church was built by Kosmas the Aetolian. It is a large sized basilica-type Church with a dome and the murals date back to the year 1787.
