• If on the day of St. Basil the weather is nice and the bears come out into the sun there will be 40 days of bad weather. If it rains on Candlemas Day there will be forty days of rain. But if sunny, there will be forty days of sun. When there are clouds in Laggada or mist in Kakarditsa this means that the weather will spoil. When the clouds go toward the barley fields, it will rains. When they head toward Plaka the weather will improve.

• If bread or a spoon falls into a bowl of milk or food then this means a guest will come.
