Υπόμνημα:

The Monastery of Kato Panagia in Arta owns The Monastery of Vyliza

“Monks operated the Monastery up to 1893. Then it was torn down and it moved elsewhere … When a Monastery was abolished, its munks would transfer to the next active Monastery. Back then the Presentation of the Virgin Mary Monastery operated in the Melissourgous settlement. When it was abolished the two monks were transferred to the Monastery of Kato Panagia in Arta. This happened because Arta owned the Churches of the Matsouki settlement. Finally in 1881 when Thessaly and Epirus joined the state the settlement of Matsouki was granted independence.”

Thanasis Makris, Resident of Matsouki, July 2012
