They’d weave the fabric on the loom. Then they’d beat the fabric in the fulling mill for 24-48 hours until it was “done,” as they’d say, and finally they’d take it to the tailor. The fulling was wooden-type equipment that worked like a watermill. The water was pumped from a groove and then poured into a wooden cone which due to the fan’s pressure would boost the water and transmit the pressure on four legs. These legs would beat and rotate the fabric with force and finally the fabric would spread on a thick oblong plank.
